Affordable Housing Units Built to Date
Description
Affordable housing is important because it helps Dunedin remain economically strong, diverse, and accessible for residents of all ages and income levels, including the local workforce, seniors, and young families. In Dunedin, affordable and attainable housing helps preserve the City’s small-town character, reduce long commutes, and ensure residents can continue living in the community they serve and support. Affordable housing remains a priority of residents as reflected in the biannual Citizen Survey. The City of Dunedin seeks to find solutions and broker opportunities to develop affordable and workforce housing. Included in the total available units are: 475 units in Palm Lake Village, 11 Habitat for Humanity Units, 25 units at Eco Village, and 19 units (townhomes) north of Eco Village.
Measure Status Update
Each year, the City of Dunedin will report on the available number of Affordable Housing units as a summary of all available affordable housing units.
Measure Next Steps
The next measurement will take at the end of calendar year 2026. The Flats on Main Street project broke ground and will provide an additional 78 units.
